Green Bird Media has recently launched a revamped website for a big-screen T.V. retailer in Los Angeles. This Drupal site provides a wishlist feature through Pinnacle Cart. Users can browse the store’s stock and create an online wishlist to print and take to the store, or to email to friends and family. The website includes other interesting features such as customized Google maps and an online employment application form.
The Google maps can show the location of individual stores, or a large map shows all of the retail locations. The large map allows users to determine which location is most convenient for them, without having to open a separate window and conduct their own search.
The job application allows candidates to fill out an entire employment application online, without having to drive to a store and fill one out by hand. This comprehensive form puts this retailers’ website on the same caliber as the large chains for high quality televisions and online services.
Drupal, an open source content management system, is the best solutions for this project, because of their dynamic content. The knowledge center, forms, blogs and store can be easily updated without knowledge of HTML or other programming languages. This allows store managers to make content changes on their own, and provides a more cost effective and efficient site for both the developers at Green Bird Media and the client.
