GBM launched a new website for San Diego’s Thunder Internet Marketing utilizing WordPress. We are avid users of Drupal, but for some web design projects WordPress is a more appropriate choice. Thunder started a new site: thunderseo.com to match their branding on Twitter and Facebook. ThunderSEO.com will be used both as a marketing tool and a blogging platform for SEO industry and social media related blog posts.
Thunder wanted to keep their branding and color scheme and have a friendly site with social media plugins so users can view their Twitter updates and link to the Facebook fan page. The good folks at ThunderSEO often tweet about SEO and related links, so the Twitter feed adds another channel to the compelling content already existing on the website.
On the design side, we focused on simplicity and consistency. The website contains all of the relevant information and shows the most recent blog posts on the front page. We kept the colors from the logo and used orange icons to accent different portals for more information or content. WordPress worked perfectly for this site especially since ThunderSEO.com isn’t going to utilize many of the modules that make Drupal so powerful.
