Non Profit Web Design: St. Paul’s Cathedral Gets an Web Design Makeover

St. Paul’s Cathedral-4-the-City Episcopal Anglican Church recently went through a website redesign to become more user-friendly, social oriented and timely. The new church website speaks to a younger audience with links to Facebook, Twitter and podcasts of the sermons.

One of our goals with every site is to make it search engine-friendly and St. Paul’s is no exception. While they did not opt for internet marketing, we still put a focus on best practices including all live text for navigation, auto page titles, clean XHTML and CSS and of course it’s on a CMS so the church can regularly update the site to keep content fresh. We utilized Drupal and a perfect mix of modules to get this site in top shape.

St. Paul’s did not come looking for a website that offered the bare minimum to visitors, the church wanted a holistic user experience that speaks to audiences young and old. This church website contains videos and audio of the sermons, you can also download the sermon texts in PDF and subscribe to podcasts. There is a comprehensive calendar and information and photos for all of the church’s services, ministries, missions and more. You can scroll through photo galleries and find general information about what it is like to be a member.

The church website is not just a place to find directions and service times, it is a place to get involved and stay informed about St. Paul’s Cathedral. Check out the before and after pictures below, or visit stpaulcathedral.org!
